ADSOTECH
Scandinavia Oy announces the availability of a new innovative CRM-system for
the NOKIA 9210 Communicator.
Espoo
,13.11.2001. ADSOTECH Scandinavia Oy brings now to the
European marketplace AboveTARGET, a new CRM and B2B Relationship
Management System. The systems runs in a traditional client/server
environment, on Laptops or on the NOKIA 9210 Communicator with a local database which synchronises
with SyncML technology with the AboveTARGET
Server version running on Unix, NT or Windows platforms. The database and synchronisation technology is
based on Sybase products AboveTARGET has
been available in Finland since
September 1.2001 and has received an overwhelming interest. ADSOTECH’s managing director Christer
Mäkelä has a long and broad experience in developing
similar tools already since early 80’s. ‘When we started to develop AboveTARGET,
we had already a long experience of development and usage of
CRM-applications. The developers of AboveTARGET designed the first
Customer Relationship Management System already as early as 1982. The current
version is the 4th. It is developed with the newest technology.
The code is 100 % new. The
functionality, the ease of use, the applicability for the business is all
based on experience gained during almost 20 years. Following criteria lay the foundation for the design: Ease of
use – Quick implementation
The main design criteria have been to
develop a comprehensive but yet an intuitive and very easy to use system,
which can be used with a minimal training. AboveTARGET is more
comprehensive than traditional CRM-systems as it supports in addition to
traditional objects like Companies, Persons, Opportunities and Contacts, also
Products, Orders/Contracts, Incidents and Customer Services functions. AboveTARGET
integrates with Microsoft Office and has also Document Management functions. Mobility-Access data anytime, anywhere
The user can access the information wherever you are – never being
without vital information on the road or in a meeting. The user does not need
to be connected to the network
more than a few seconds as the wireless synchronization function will update the local database
with most recent changes from the server. In the same way the mobile device
will send the local changes in
the opposite direction. Process
orientation – Fits into any organisation
The dialogues and navigation in the
system have been designed with a process-orientation, which means that they
adapt to normal workflow that
a user would follow using manual methods. AboveTARGET
supports also multiple
languages. No extra
work – Instead, more time
Using AboveTARGET will not involve any extra work.
The data the user record in the
system would probably be written
down somewhere else, on a spreadsheet, on a piece of paper or with a word
processor. The important thing
is that when AboveTARGET is the main system on the desktop or laptop
all the users in an organisation
have one single place to store the data; the AboveTARGET
Relational Database. The data is
stored once and it is there. And
it can be shared by other users.
The whole organisation can share the data and get rid of all paper files and
individual spreadsheets and address files. AboveTARGET is a system that anyone can use,
from a one person organisation to large companies with hundreds of users.
Integrated with Microsoft Office, Above TARGET will increase every users productivity to a
new level. The users can
always access customer information anywhere they are, any time, and always
with the most convenient and applicable device and connection, be it a
workstation, a mobile Laptop or
the NOKIA 9210 Communicator. ‘’Our
decision to implement the NOKIA 9210 version of AboveTARGET
was made 1 year ago basically
then based on a gut feeling and strong belief in NOKIAs product development. Recent
market research figures indicate that the 9210 has recently passed the Palm
PDA in sales in Europe which means that we are ‘betting on the right
horse’ ‘’ Mäkelä adds. Jan
Mattson, Technical Manager at ADSOTECH explains the reasons behind using Sybase
technology: ‘’We made a decision to use Sybase technology for
the database and synchronisation. Sybase was the only supplier last year and
even at this point of time that has a production version of a small footprint
database running on the 9210. The database is called Sybase Ultralite. The
server database as well as the database on the portable laptops is Sybase ASA
(Adaptive Server Anywhere). The synchronisation is based on the Sybase
Mobilink product. Having one vendor supplying an integrating product family
has made things so much easier. The synchronisation process works wirelessly
with the 9210. AboveTARGET makes a connection to the server and the changes
are exchanged in 2-3 minutes.
This has a dramatic difference in phone call bills compared with
applications requiring a open line while the application is used‘’ The
price of the product is between 600 – 900 Euro/user depending on configuration and volumes. The
product will be available
through a network of resellers
that are currently under evaluation. Meanwhile, the product can be
ordered directly from ADSOTECH.. ADSOTECH Scandinavia Oy (www.adsotech.com) is a privately
