David Nelson – Key Account ManagerDavid has been working at ADSOTECH since December 2011 in account management, sales and marketing. Before coming to ADSOTECH he was a marketing project manager at Maxor, responsible for marketing and sales planning for the company.
He has studied IT Business and Administration at Helsinki Business College where he won two Scholarship awards in excellence in marketing and business planning.
David moved from Oxford, England to Helsinki in 2004 to be with his Finnish wife and to start a family in Finland. The family now consists of Alex (8), Oliver (6) and a third child is expected in June. Besides his family and job David also keeps busy through his hobbies:
“My interests are football, playing my guitar and reading, but mostly being a taxi driver for my children! I currently play for a Finnish football team in the 5 th Division and a Futsal team on the weekend.”
David is responsible for several Nordic Global accounts mainly in the technology industry sector. A typical workday for David involves contacting customers/leads and finding if there are any current or potential problems that may be solved or alleviated by using software from our product range.
This also means being in contact with customers to ensure they have received the correct amount of training/information to use our solutions and generating interest with other departments, people or business units in the company that could benefit from our products.
This may involve webinars, seminars, on site meetings and organizing demos, proof of concepts and even longer running pilot projects. More recently David has been inviting his Finnish based accounts to visit the new ADSOTECH Demolab. David also explains what he mostly likes in his work and what is most challenging:
“One of the most fulfilling (and challenging) aspects of my job, is trying to understand the business processes/problems and how our products can help solve it. Our products can be applied and used in all different areas of SAP and therefore all different industries, from retail to pharmaceutical, manufacturing and finance in a global environment, meaning the processes, problems and solutions can vary greatly from case to case. It’s a good feeling to look at a company, know the business case that you helped to solve and hear the great feedback from the users that have benefitted.”
