Today, computerized accounting systems, e.g. SAP will automatically record most of the business transactions into the general ledger accounts immediately after the software prepares the sales invoices, issues checks to creditors, processes receipts from customers, etc. The result is that we will not see journal entries for most of the business transactions. The exception however, is the Journal entries that need to be prepared in the closing period to adjust general ledger bookings usually during a very short period of time.

Article 5 1 (f) reads: Personal data shall be processed in a manner that ensures appropriate security of the personal data, including protection against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage, using appropriate technical or organisational measures (‘integrity and confidentiality’).
