Master Data Management (MDM)
In computing, a master data management tool can be used to support master data management by
removing duplicates, standardizing data (mass maintaining), and incorporating rules to eliminate incorrect
data from entering the system in order to create an authoritative source of master data. Master data are
the products, accounts, and parties for which the business transactions are completed.
The root cause problem stems from business unit and product line segmentation, in which the same customer will be serviced by different product lines, with redundant data being entered about the customer and account in order to process the transaction. The redundancy of party and account data is compounded in the front to back office life cycle, where the authoritative single source for the party, account and product data is needed but is often once again redundantly entered or augmented.

How are the MDM Solutions developed
The development process is typically very simple. The developer who could even be a business user records the dialogue of the transaction that will be automated by going through the different SAP screens and fields that should be used in the process. Thereafter the recorded fields are mapped to the Excel spreadsheet. The processed is thereafter tested and when working fine it can be used and distributed to other users.

What are the benefits of using Winshuttle products
Typically the savings of using Winshuttle products in MDM approx 2 full time employee man years per user. This means in practice that one person can do in theory the same as 2 people if the work would be just running tasks with Winshuttle. In practice, people are doing also other tasks that are not automated with Winshuttle which means that the savings are always based on the mix of work.

Usage of BAPIs
