Licensing Direction: What's Under Consideration

Important.png

Precisely is exploring new licensing options for Automate Studio, including a cloud and consumption-based model.

If this moves forward, it opens up another way to use the platform, giving customers who want more flexibility a new option to consider.

There's also a direction of travel toward closer ties with Precisely's Data Integrity Suite, including a new Studio AI interface, data cataloging, data governance, location intelligence, and data enrichment. None of this is decided. Early feedback has been positive, and that's exactly why we want customers in the room before anything is locked in.

Automate 26.1: What's New

Automate 26.1 has been released, with three highlights worth knowing about.

OData services support
Automate Studio now supports OData services for SAP S/4HANA, so you can work with SAP data directly through OData V2 and V4 APIs. Query scripts run the way you already work: locally, from the command line, through the Excel Add-in or macros, server-side via Run later or scheduling, or through the Workflow plugin.

MCP Server support
Automate Evolve and Studio Manager now include a built-in MCP Server, exposing Automate Studio scripts as tools for MCP-compatible AI clients. Any AI client that implements the Model Context Protocol can connect and interact with Studio Manager functionality through natural language.

Automate Evolve Cloud Essentials
A cloud version of Studio Manager. License administration and job execution move into Precisely's cloud, while the governance you rely on today (user access, license assignment, content sharing, scheduled job execution) stays the same. It's worth a look whether you're on Studio Manager (a like-for-like move to the cloud, less server overhead) or Studio Administrator (a preview of what a cloud-managed setup could offer as you plan ahead).

Full details, including the licensing options under consideration and the product roadmap, will be walked through at Nordic User Group 2026, where your feedback is part of how this gets shaped.
